X Shore Receives Largest Order In Company History
October 16, 2024M Yachts to Receive 32 Electric Boats for the DACH Region, first deliveries by end of 2024
October 16th, Stockholm – X Shore, the Swedish tech company pioneering fully electric, silent, and connected boats, has signed its largest order to date with M Yachts, marking a major milestone in the company's commercial growth. The agreement covers the delivery of 32 boats to the DACH region, consisting of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with completion expected by the end of next year.
The boats, featuring a mix of X Shore's cutting-edge designs, will be showcased in M Yachts' strategically positioned showrooms across these key markets, reinforcing X Shore's presence in one of the fastest-growing regions for electric boating. This brand partnership will significantly enhance the ability of customers in the DACH region to view, test, and service X Shore boats locally, ensuring a seamless customer experience from purchase to after-sales support.
The German boating market is projected to reach an electrification rate of around 12% by 2027, according to research by Arthur D. Little commissioned by X Shore. This growth is fueled by internal combustion engine (ICE) bans on several lakes, high environmental awareness, and Germany's rapid adoption of electric vehicles. Similarly, the Swiss and Austrian markets are following suit, with ICE bans on lakes driving demand for sustainable alternatives.
As global awareness of the environmental impact of traditional boating increases, X Shore’s mission to redefine the industry with sustainable, high-performance electric boats is more relevant than ever. Research shows that a conventional 6-10 meter fossil-fuel boat emits as much pollution in 50 hours as seven transatlantic flights between New York and central Europe. In addition to emissions, traditional boats contribute significantly to noise pollution, which has long-term effects on coastal life. The International Maritime Organisation has found that noise pollution from boats negatively impacts marine life, both short and long-term.
X Shore CEO René Hansen: “The DACH region is a crucial market for X Shore, sharing our deep connection to the water and commitment to sustainable boating. This deal with M Yachts to deliver 32 boats reflects our shared vision of making boating one with nature through sustainable performance, seamless technology, and modular, minimalistic design. It’s a key part of our long-term commercial strategy, and we’re excited for the future growth that will come with the partnership with M Yachts. This landmark deal with M Yachts not only highlights the growing demand for sustainable boating solutions but also strengthens X Shore’s strategic foothold in a region at the forefront of electric mobility.”
M Yachts Managing Partners Jan Ole Hagen & Philipp von Arnim: “X Shore boats are superb results of engineering and design and we’re overjoyed to soon showcase them across our sites in the DACH region. The boats are fast, sleek, and built with true craftsmanship in X Shore’s Swedish factory. We know our customers will love them and we anticipate very high demand once the boats are available. We know the X Shore boats will be especially well received in the DACH region given the dual-love of boating and the natural world.”
