Promising minimal maintenance, lower operating costs and a gorgeous modern design, Swedish company X Shore is making waves in the marine industry with their 100% electric-powered yachts.
Created as an environmentally friendly alternative to gas-powered boats, X Shore’s pure electric vessels not only offer a shift away from fossil fuels, but also a seductively silent ride that eliminates noise pollution and toxic fumes. Marketed with the tagline “Power of Silence,” the X Shore yachts can reach top speeds of 40 knots and even up to 100 nautical miles on a single charge.
Founded by X Shore President Konrad Bergström, X Shore currently offers three models: the Eeltrek 8000, the Eelex 8000 and the Eelex 6500. All models feature an aerodynamic hull designed to reduce friction and reduce energy use by approximately 35 percent as compared to conventional vessels. The most important component of the X Shore boats is the X Shore propulsion system, engineered with single shaft construction for improved energy efficiency. Owners can choose between battery options of a 90kWh and 120 kWh. Vessels can be charged in as little as 8 hours, depending on the power source.
In addition to innovative technology and engineering, the X Shore boasts modern luxury looks that draw from Scandinavia’s rich design culture. The sleek and minimalist crafts feature a modular interior rail system and can be customized according to the owner’s preferences, from number of seats and sunbeds to cargo storage options. Each vessel includes a 24-inch monitor with easy-to-reach control buttons that show how much battery charge is left in the boat.
“X Shore boats are vanguard in technology, design and sustainability,” says Bergström in a press statement. “Once you’ve experienced the sea without noise and fumes, there is no turning back. It’s magic. That is why we are so strongly committed to contribute to a fossil fuel-free shift of the marine industry.”
